I just saw the below picture in Moshe Hadar's website  and besides the excitement at the sight of the picture that accompanies me and family for decades, I would like to share a story related to this picture or at least related to two of those people.

My father was in the Israeli Air Force for many years and in his last position was commander of one of the Air Force bases until 1982. During my childhood during the 70s I remember hundreds if not more pictures of the Air Force and of my father, so I was very surprised today, while browsing another topic on Google, to come across this picture from Moshe Hadar's website. A picture I remember from home from so many years ago.

The site itself lists next to the picture the names of the late Ezer Weizmann and the late Moti Hod, who, as was registered at the time, was the commander of the Air Force (between 67 and 73). There is no date on the picture itself so I can only assume it was taken between the years 1972 and 1973   The officer standing and peeking over Ezer Weizmann's shoulder is my father, Arieh Shummer. In 1984 my father joined the new party that Ezer founded and in fact not only worked together but became close friends. Aside from various roles as director general of government ministries in which Ezer served, my father was the director general of the presidential office during Eiser's tenure, a period that lasted 7 years they remained as very close friends until the day Ezer passed away. For decades, for me and my family this picture symbolized a kind of prediction of fate that at the time the picture was taken neither of them, my father or Ezer, also foresaw.
