Arieh Lewin, June 1940 – on British soil. After the Dunkirk evacuation.

Sargent Arieh Lewin served in the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps (AMPC), who were Eretz Israel volunteers enlisted in the British Army Royal Pioneer Corps from September 1939.

Between Sargent Lewin and the Secretary of State is General John Warker (Lord Gort), who was appointed as High Commissioner of Palestine by the British government’s colonial minister to be in charge of the British Mandate government over Israel between 1944-45.
