For three decades, one prominent comic duo starred in the Jewish world, transcending all other duo and ensembles – Shimon Dzigan and Israel Schumacher. Fumi has written many satirical skits for this comic duo.

Their story is not only about the artistic and entertainment world they took part in, but also the historical story of the Jewish people in the 20th century. Their repertoire included dozens of Yiddish plays (some in Hebrew as well), and they sparked cultural changes in the European Jewish world and in the young state of Israel, as no cultural duo did before them.

The idea of ​​the comic duo was almost always based on two personalities who are similar in age and gender – but radically different from each other. Thus Dejigan and Schumacher put on shows where Schumacher was always the serious, considerate and educated figure while Dejigan embodied the anarchist figure, of low intelligence and usually also rude. The comic effect was created as a result of the differences between the two in the show, and was usually based on Schumacher's anger that Dejigan does not act as expected in a civilized society

True comic / tragic story

In the mid-1950s, Dejigan and Schumacher were about to open another performance in Tel Aviv. Buying tickets was meager and they feared a sad opening or even cancellation of the show. Dejigan and SchumacherContact Fumi, who wrote them many skits, including the specific show. Their request, which will find a cheap advertising gimmick, to boost ticket sales in the few days left for the premiere. Fumi advised one of them to go up to the apartment in front of the Kesit cafe, on Dizengoff Street, during a load and stand on the roof and threaten to jump.
